Cinnamon Apples & Splenda Cinnamon Apples

Cinnamon apples

2 red delicious apples
2 granny smith apples
½ cup brown sugar
1 TBS unsalted butter
1tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Peel and core apples, cut into quarters then into even slices not to thick. Melt butter in pan add apples lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Simmer on low to medium for approx. 20-25 min. until soft but not mushy, depending on how thick the slices are.
Serve hot or cold. They will be juicy if you want thicker do corn starch slurry.

Serving suggestions:  Just as is or serve over ice cream, pancakes, waffles, and yogurt or add to make Danish or just eat like you would a chunky apple sauce.

Makes just about 2 cups worth.

Splenda Cinnamon Apples

Everything is the same except use ¼ cup of Brown Sugar Splenda instead of regular brown sugar.

One time when I did this recipe I didn’t have lemon I tried using an orange and it was fine I didn’t find a taste difference. So if you don’t have lemon try and orange if you have one. I also have tried a lime with no difference in taste.

After you try this you will not want to eat chunky apple sauce from a jar or can, this tastes so good you will want to make this again and again, so will your friends and family if you let them try this.
